Okay maybe it should be product related woes… but they’ve all become one and the same to me. The day before the overnight hike I went to the supermarket to stock up on food. One of my purchases was a packet of dried fruit mix… it’s got taste, packs easily doesn’t need any other special attention. I ate some of it and had about half a packet left.
Well I’d started eating the rest of it earlier this evening when I got home from work, and I was going to eat more… until I for some reason looked at the back and it said in nice writing: Best Before DEC 2006. Now I know you can eat stuff after the Best Before date, but it’s like 4 months after that I even bought it. And stuff past it’s best before shouldn’t be sold in theory. Even Wikipedia says so (not that Wikipedia is the be all and end all to anything…).
Well yep I did go on that overnight expedition, which was cool/fun and everything else. The weather miraculously held up reasonably well though our initial plans did get changed after a random bush bash resulted in kind of getting stuck due to the lack of a reasonable route down and the weather clouds rolling in. All in all a good long weekend.
Oh and in today’s happenings, I finally bought a tv table/stand. One coffee table and piano chair later, I actually have real furniture. Now apparently (not my idea), the next plan is to somehow change my other furniture so I can get a table of some sorts back in… Anyone who’s seen my room will know how much available floorspace/wallspace I have left, so it’s a rather big call.
But let’s all pray that the weather stays fine-ish for the next 2 days. Off on a overnight camping/hiking/walking expedition somewhere in the Lower Blue Mountains. Otherwise my nifty utilisation of garbage bags may have to be put to use which who knows may result in what water stopping contraption.
Anyways thats enough from me, I gotta go do stuff…
Google is pretty good when it comes round to April Fools, inventing some crazy idea/service. This year it’s Google TiSP and Gmail Paper.
